Roadto50% is a pan-European association aiming to develop strategies for gender equality in politics, institutions and decision-making positions, and which strives for its domino influence on all other spheres of society. One hundred years after the introduction of universal suffrage and the first female elected to the parliament in some EU countries, datas shows us that women continue to be under-represented in politics and public life, in the European Parliament, national parliaments and governments, and local assemblies. Women represent half of society, but do not account for a representative democracy. Consequently, Roadto50% want to promote the active participation of women in politics and leadership positions through several projects and campaigns.
